Summer Projects Update- July 31, 2024
We are in the heart of summer now, and projects will start to see some visible progress in coming weeks:
Lithia Chairlift Construction
The sheave assemblies, carriers, and some other support pieces have been delivered. The forms for all the tower foundations have been built and we plan to break ground in September. Some new Federal guidance on wildlife habitat has changed our construction schedule, but believe we are still on track to finish the chair in late fall.
Poet Rope Tow Relocation
The USFS is in their final site reviews of this project and re-engineering design for the old drive is almost complete. Once engineering is done we will submit those plans to the Forest service for the ropeway review. We believe we could receive authorization by October, which provides enough time to complete this project this year.
Aisle 2 Widening
The Aisle 2 project is designed to make this trail a more novice-friendly slope and better access way for the base area. The contractor is finalizing pre-work planning and we anticipate staging to begin this week.
Youth Snowsports Dome
We’re working with Jackson County for final authorization to construct the platform. A contractor for the build has been chosen and is working with engineers to conduct the review work on both the platform and dome frame.
Bar Deck Repairs
The bar deck has been closed for the next month so that we can replace the decking. This will take a few weeks and revitalize one of our most popular amenities.
