Mt. Ashland Ski Area Closure Due to Access Road Conditions – March 16, 2025
To our valued guests and staff,
We regret to inform you that Mt. Ashland Ski Area will be closing early today, March 16, 2025, due to an Access Road closure by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). All guests must vacate the Ski Area boundaries by 1:00 PM to ensure safe departure before road conditions worsen.
The closure is the result of a broken-down ODOT snowplow combined with an additional 8.5 inches of snowfall projected today. The Mt. Ashland Ski Road is plowed and maintained in winter entirely by ODOT. Unfortunately, without the ability to keep the Access Road passable, ODOT has made the decision to close it entirely for the safety of all travelers. As a result, all ski area facilities will be closed to both the public and staff for the remainder of the day. Uphill travel will not be permitted on Monday, March 17.
For guests who have purchased lift tickets for today, we want to make it right. Any day lift ticket holders may visit the ticket desk to receive a gift card that can be used toward a future visit.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this unexpected closure. Safety remains one of our core values, and we encourage all guests to plan their departure accordingly to avoid being stranded.
For further updates and reopening announcements, please check our website and social media channels.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
