We’re keeping our fireworks tradition and Bavarian festivities alive, even if Mt. Ashland Ski Area operations are paused. Join us in supporting Mt. Ashland Ski Patrol at their biggest fundraiser of the year. After a challenging snow season, this is the perfect opportunity to come together, reconnect, and celebrate our incredible mountain community. Alpine magic for the whole family! Read on to learn about how our event will look a little different this year.
There is no fee for entry and the Sid and Karen DeBoer Lodge is open to all.

“Calling all families! This one is for you! Time to put your built-in race team to the test for Mt. Ashland’s first ever Snowball Sprint Relay Race. As a team of three to five, take on 5 of our beginner runs; Blossom, Sonnet, Lupine, Lithia and Bumble Bee, for a shot at some awesome prizes! The race course is as follows:
Two team members will start in the learning center. Three will start at Lithia Lift.
Racer 1: Up Sonnet chair, down Blossom
Racer 2: Up Sonnet chair, down Lupine
Racer 3: Up Lithia, down Bumble Bee
Racer 4: Up Lithia, Down Poma
Racer 5: Up Lithia, Down Sonnet -> Finish
One adult team member should register on behalf fo their entire team!
This competition is for beginner skiers and riders and their families.
There must be atleast one adult per team. And there must be atleast two children (10 y/o and under) per team. A team should have 3 members minimum (two racers will have to race 2 legs) or 5 members maximum.
All racers must be able to load and unload the chairlift without assistance and navigate lower mountain runs independently. Parents or adults are able to accompany children during their leg .

Join us on July 10 – 12, 2026, high above the Rogue Valley for the 27th annual Siskiyou Out Back Trail Running Festival (The SOB!). Explore the Pacific Crest Trail, the Siskiyou Mountains, spectacular views of Mt. Shasta and the Cascades, and some of the trails that make Ashland a premier Pacific Northwest trail running destination. The SOB is a non-profit race with a strong local community vibe that also welcomes runners from all over the world who want to experience our little trail running mecca.
New for 2026, the weekend kicks off on Friday afternoon with the inaugural Brink 100, a true mountain hundred that starts in downtown Ashland and finishes with the rest of the SOB races at the Lodge. Brink 100 expands the SOB experience with a dramatic town-to-summit journey through the night, while the rest of the festival races start and finish on Mt. Ashland on Saturday and Sunday.
So, pick a distance and join us for a weekend of running, food, friends and music in a mountain playground with a vibrant, friendly, and welcoming running community!
